Your U.S. Agent for FDA Communications
U.S. Agent services for eligible foreign food facilities that need a U.S.-based point of contact for FDA-related communications.
U.S. Agent services do not constitute FDA approval, certification, endorsement, or legal representation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
What is a U.S. Agent?
Foreign food facilities registered with FDA must designate a U.S. Agent. The U.S. Agent acts as a communications link between FDA and your facility — a point of contact for FDA-related communications.
A U.S. Agent is not:
- An FDA representative or employee
- An FDA approval or certification service
- Legal representation
How U.S. Agent confirmation works
For foreign facilities, FDA verifies that the designated U.S. Agent has agreed to serve before confirming registration and issuing a registration number.
- 01
You designate us as your U.S. Agent
Submit the request form with your exact facility name and address.
- 02
Registration is submitted
Your facility registration lists us as the U.S. Agent.
- 03
U.S. Agent confirmation
We confirm to FDA that we agree to serve. FDA's U.S. Agent Voluntary Identification System (VIS) can help streamline this when names and addresses match.
- 04
Registration number issued
After confirmation, FDA can confirm registration and issue the registration number.
